My favorite Epic game was Epic 40,000. I almost sold all my Epic miniatures recently, but when I found MicroCosmic, I wanted to play again. It is clearly derived from Epic 40K, but has its own approach, and I think it is very elegant. As a tinkerer, of course I don’t think it is perfect,Continue reading “MicroCosmic, Marines vs Eldar”

Second Crusader vs Creevin What a Tanker game
The first game (https://andyshobby.wordpress.com/2022/12/23/quar-what-a-tanker-2) went very quickly, so we played again. It was a very different game. The two Fast tractors (the smaller Creevish ones) ran all over the field, and stayed alive for a long time, even with only 2 Armor points each. The little Mogyn facing the huge Baeliog: The two smaller CreevishContinue reading “Second Crusader vs Creevin What a Tanker game”
Quar: What a Tanker!
Crusaders vs Creevin We played What a Tanker! today with 15mm Quar tractors. On the Crusader side, there was one Baeliog and one Ailthean. For Creevin, we had on Anfyr, one Gyb-och, and one very nervous Mogyn (open vehicle, can’t button up). I didn’t take enough pictures to do a story, but here are someContinue reading “Quar: What a Tanker!”
More Quar Tractors
I have been painting some more tractors. My first use will be for What a Tanker!, which I have played with Quar tractors. They may also show up in Chain of Command, or of course This Quar’s War. Click on images to enlarge them. Here is a Crusader Raewyr. While its armament is machine guns,Continue reading “More Quar Tractors”
Moria Tiles
I have been making some underground/cavern/Moria tiles from 2’x2′ insulation foam tiles. The goal is to have a modular layout for underground battles–mostly goblins against dwarves. I used project tiles from Home Depot, because I didn’t feel confident I could cut larger pieces into consistent squares. I am not sure they are still carrying theContinue reading “Moria Tiles”
4-way Grimdark Future Firefight
We had a fun game with Grimdark Future Firefight. Our four players each had a small force. The Dark Legion were mostly from the Mutant Chronicles: Siege of the Citadel boardgame, with a few supplemented figures. There were some Citadel Necrons. The Frogs were from Critter Commandos, with a Battletech figure as a Ribbot (FrogContinue reading “4-way Grimdark Future Firefight”
Blood Bowl Chameleon
My (kind) wife and I have a 4-team Blood Bowl league. We each have a primary team (mine are Humans, hers are Skaven), and a secondary team (mine are Orcs, hers Lizardmen). The idea is that we each play our own teams, but if my primary team plays my secondary team, she will play theContinue reading “Blood Bowl Chameleon”
Quar What a Tanker! stats

I have not evaluated the stats for a preview of the next version of This Quar’s War, soContinue reading “Quar What a Tanker! stats”
An online Quar What a Tanker! game
We played another game, with three players online (on Discord) and one local. I did not play, but ran the game. I had just as much fun. We gave each player a small/medium tractor, with the ability to upgrade on crossing the opposite edge. Only one tractor per side could upgrade, giving a bit ofContinue reading “An online Quar What a Tanker! game”
Making slide show battle reports
Whenever I post one of my battle reports, I get nice comments about it, usually more on that than the game itself, miniatures, or terrain. I have seen a couple of comments that someone is going to try the format, but I’ve not seen one yet. I am sure there are other ways to doContinue reading “Making slide show battle reports”
